مصادر البحث

الغرض من ذكر المراجع التالية معاونة من يشاء من حضرات القراء على الاستزادة من المعرفة في الموضوعات التي يتناولها الكتاب. وقد يلاحظ حضراتهم أن أكثر اعتمادنا في هذه الدراسة كان على الوثائق الحكومية الموجودة في دور محفوظات الدول سواء في القاهرة أو في لندن وباريس وفينَّا وواشنطن. وأكثر هذه الوثائق تتناول الفترة لغاية سنة ١٨٨٥م، وجزء منها يشمله الفترة التالية لغاية ١٨٩٩م. وقد كنا أثبتنا قائمة مطولة بهذه الوثائق في كتبنا السابقة سواء ما ظهر منها بالعربية أم بالإنجليزية، كما كنا أثبتنا «مجموعات للمراجع» خاصة بتاريخ مصر والسودان. ولذلك فسوف نكتفي الآن بذكر طائفة من المطبوعات التي هي في متناول اليد، بالمكتبات العامة كدار الكتب ومكتبة جامعة القاهرة، ومكتبة «الأمير» إبراهيم حلمي، ومكتبة قصر الجمهورية، ومكتبة الجمعية الجغرافية، وغير ذلك.
